New York, NY – (January 27, 2011) – Two seasons ago Perry Ellis launched their fashion show into homes across the country through live streaming via Facebook and www.PerryEllis.com. This season Perry Ellis is expanding the digital reach of its fashion show with two new programs: a model contest that puts Facebook fans in the role of casting director and an exclusive flash sale where consumers can buy fall 2011 looks direct from the runway.
“We live in an age of access and accessibility,” said Perry Ellis Creative Director John Crocco. “We want to let our fans be part of the process, and let them participate in the decisions that go into producing a show. We thought it only suitable that after inviting fans into the process, we should also let them purchase the clothes six months early too.”
The Most Wanted Model contest, which is hosted on www.Facebook.com/PerryEllis, will feature nine of the newest faces in men’s modeling. Fans of the brand will be able to vote on their favorite and the winner will get to walk in the show, scheduled for Friday, February 11 at 11:00 AM.
The Most Wanted Model contest launches on Wednesday, January 26 on Perry Ellis’s Facebook page with a short video featuring each contestant demonstrating why they deserve to win. Perry Ellis’s Facebook fans can vote for their favorite model until February 7. The top three models, based on preliminary voting, will be announced on February 8 and the winner will be announced live at the Perry Ellis fall 2011 show by Crocco minutes before the lights go down and the models strut their stuff. Viewers can watch the show live from their couches at www.PerryEllis.com and www.facebook.com/PerryEllis. Let the model voting begin!
Right after the show, fans can be the first to buy select looks from Crocco’s fall 2011 Collection in a flash sale that will feature a limited run of 10 complete runway looks. Hosted on www.perryellis.com, the sale, Watch it Live Buy it First, goes live only to Perry Ellis Facebook fans via www.facebook.com/perryellis after the show on Friday, February 11 and runs through Monday, February 14. The sale will then open to the public on www.perryellis.com February 14 and run through February 16. The looks, available in multiple sizes, will be delivered approximately 2 months after the sale.
“I love fashion shows, but there is nothing quite like the frustration of seeing something you love on the runway and then realizing it won’t be on store shelves for half a year,” said Crocco. “For the first time, Perry Ellis’s fashion show is going to give people something it never has: instant gratification.”
